About Marvin J. Cashion, Principal
Marvin J. Cashion, Principal of Cashion Mediation & Arbitration, LLC, practiced corporate, transactional
and international law for over 35 years before dedicating himself exclusively to the resolution of
business disputes as a mediator and arbitrator.  He began in Florida under the name of
Cashion ADR
International, LLC
, as a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Court Mediator accepting both court-
appointed and private assignments.  He moved his practice to North Carolina early in 2011, where it
now operates under its current name and where his certification as a Dispute Resolution Commission
Certified Superior Court Mediator is pending.  He also has a significant background in insurance and
reinsurance law and practice, and has served as a mediator and arbitrator in those fields.

A native of Puerto Rico, he is fluent in both English and Spanish.   In addition to the U.K. and Spain, his
international work frequently took him to Latin America.  Having also served as an officer and director of
several U.S. and Latin American corporations, he brings, in addition to his legal expertise, an insider's
business knowledge to the task of commercial dispute resolution.

Such a background qualifies him to hear mediation and arbitration cases involving a wide variety of
business issues.  He was once asked how small a case had to be before he would take it.  He
answered, "The dispute has to be serious enough that the parties are unable to reach an agreement on
their own and want to retain me to help them do that."  He has dealt with cases ranging from the
thousands to the millions of dollars.

Mr. Cashion holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Maxwell School at Syracuse
University, Syracuse, New York, a Juris Doctor from its College of Law, and a Master of Laws in
Corporation Law from New York University School of Law in New York City.  He is admitted to the Bars
of New York, Connecticut, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the U.S.
Supreme Court.  In addition to New York and Connecticut, he has worked in the Law Departments of
major corporations in New Jersey, Chicago, Illinois and Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida.

In addition to his Florida and North Carolina mediation programs, Mr. Cashion has completed the
American Bar Association Advanced Mediation Skills Training Program, the American Bar Association
Commercial Arbitration Training Institute, certification as a FINRA Securities Arbitrator, and certification
as an Insurance and Reinsurance Arbitrator and Umpire by ARIAS•U.S.

His affiliations have included:

Business Law, and Torts and Insurance Practice)

A complete curriculum vitae is available upon request.
